A firefighters-first solution, iCommander provides a central hub to alleviate the pain points involved for firefighters on site at the scene of a fire.
With most fire scenes in Taiwan, the first team on site is assigned point of command. This means a point of command leader needs to be appointed to keep track of the manifest of people going into a building, when they entered, and their current oxygen stats. Prior to this system, the firefighters had to carry a heavy load of multiple items to facilitate these requirements. In an effort to reduce their carry load and provide more utility, the iCommander app was developed in conjunction with RTStream's F01 camera line.
The F01 camera line cameras are equipped with the following IoT capabilities:
- Bluetooth 4.0
- WiFi (MQTT, RTSP)
- 4G
- Gyroscope
- GPS
To extend additional data tracing, a sensor strap is also pairable with the F01 which allows for additional data such as the wearer's heart rate, internal/external temperature and barometric pressure.
With this data, the command hub app can directly track the location of each person, view their live videos stream and engage in voice push to talk communications the the members of each or all voice channels.
The F01 is also equipped with a custom USB type C port which allows for the connection of a peripheral camera for custom use cases such as IR or pinhole cameras.
The app supports up to 16 channels of simultanous video playback with the help of D01, one of RTStream's video decoder boxes.
> Tracking and saving lives
With barometric data, we can calculate relative height axis differences between each person and cross reference it with the GPS data to get an approximate location of fallen firefighters' last locations. On top of this if a firefighter has fallen and cannot get up, an automatic SOS alarm is fired off which notifies the commander of an extraneous events. In conjunction with this alarm, a loud alarm sound effect is also played from the F01 camera for nearby fighterfighters to locate their party members via audio as visuals are not necessarily reliable at the scene of a fire due to line of sight occlusion from smoke or rubble.
> Timer counters
Along with the timers being used for members that have fallen, we also have a central mission timer counter which sends a warning to the commander app that they should start pulling back firefighters before they hit critical oxygen levels.
