dnaPower is a Vancouver based DNA reports company that specialize in analysis of DNA sequences across multiple metrics such as health, diet, fitness, brain and immunity. We began the discovery process by communicating their team on their current workflow pipelines and the pain points involved with each of the flows.
> Some products require online submitted 23ANDME data which initially required manual labour to create and assign reports for customers
After breaking down the tech stack, we helped streamline the process by allowing customers to optionally submit 23ANDME data during the checkout process. Once submitted, a sequence of automated events are fired off behind the scenes which sends the 23ANDME to a separate service to analyze and finally generates their designated reports. This helps alleviate the potential for human error and expedites the process.
> Customers may purchase a kit from dnaPower and submit their DNA swabs manually via snail mail along with their kit barcode
Since their DNA data was not available at purchase, a physical kit is sent to the customer. To support this workflow, we developed a customer portal which allows the customers to register and submit their barcode from their physical kit. Upon receiving the submissions, our API service generates the corresponding reports in the backend and links up the report downloads when they are analyzed and completed.
